I would show augustus a map of the americas, and tell him to go there. Maybee rome would still exist if that was the case. 8)

Well, I am going to drop a flag here and call foul.

Hmmn... Edit
Sorry but the idea of going back in history to eradicate two major religions is pretty offensive, let alone some of the other comments. I belong to one of the two mentioned religious organizations above and while I don't share the beliefs of the other, I certainly acknowledge its right to exist peacefully on this planet along with everyone else, and every other belief, and religion or even lack of belief at all. I still believe this after having witnessed religious extremism in many parts of the world where the level of cruelty and maliciousness seems to have no limit.

Hopefully the post will get pulled. Fun post and good idea orignally, now ruined.

Peace,
Mike

Gents gents gents...let's all please be aware of our rules. As well as keeping a mutual respect for others. Just because we may disagree or even hate something, doesn't mean everyone else shares the same sentiments. This creates tension on our forum which of course we're trying to avoid.

Play nice!

Have a serious talk with Tiberius, so he would let Germanicus finished the conquest of Germania (and maybe poisening all Germanicus descendence: little Caligula, Agripinna, etc).
Or steal Claudius etruscan diccionary.

Hmmn. I do respect religions right to exist, and I myself am an agnostic.

I will not go into the specifics of it all, but I believe had certain things not occured a long time ago we would have many more religions today than we currently do. Even for a christian, it would be interesting to go back, change some things, and see how the world would be now. Maybe the world would be worse off, maybe not. It could even possibly answer many of the major questions that afflict both Islam and Christianity. Perhaps even prove your faith (not that the faithful need proof - but you get the idea, in the general world's eyes).

Sadly, the realm of space travel is elusive as it ever was. There are many interesting ''what if's'' books that cover the possibilities.

Anyway, I will not further de-rail this topic, so will leave it at that.

Once more, should I go back in time, I would give the romans and greeks and even persians 5,000 copies each of the major works of medicine, physics, chemistry, mining, astrology, biology, etc.

I wonder how far forward we would jump.
