I could not find it either, but hoped you might have had a better luck...Well, I am trying to ILL the other book where the artifact should be treated - The Age of Cleopatra: The Art of Late Dynastic Graeco-Roman Egypt (1988). It looks like it actually can be ordered for $3 or $5 (overseas) through the Royal-Athena Galleries.

I thought I had seen it at your place before Brian!

It's wonderful to see such skill at metalwork being employed in our hobby. Congratulations to all who can seriously attempt such a project. I could only sit and think about it.

David. I don't think that you should be so modest for indeed I have seen some of the projects that you have put forward, and infact I find that you have also passed on much expertise to others who appear to be searching for it.

I myself have been creating all aspects of Roman armour and weaponry for over 30 years now and at 75 years young I have retired three times in my life, but there are times when I wonder just where the devil did I ever find the time to go to work.
What I do enjoy now of course is our great Web Site where I see the guys who are up and coming who grab hold of the tools and get stuck into it by having a go at making their own gear.

I like to enjoy myself now by being able to pass on as much as I can to others in the hopes that it may be helpfull, what I should realy do is retire completely and put pen to paper that may be of use some where.

Thanks for the compliment. But I can see them really up close, so I see the flaws that I cleverly conceal by proper camera angle.

David . There not flaws for what I used to find at times it was better to have little bits of that into my productions and it made them look more authentic.

Brian,
Best of luck, you are doing it the hard way (the way it was probably originally done!) It took me many 8 hour days once I made it to the point you are at now, and I was working in wax! The pictures of the original are not good for recreation and the only point of reference for taking measurements is the length of the nose in relation to the overall diameter. You've got an excellent start! Keep going and don't give up! The hair is nightmare, as is eye placement...just warning you. Keep tapping, you'll get there!

Jennifer. Thank you for your kind comments that piece is one that has been sitting on the back burner in my workshop for some time now, I shall get it done one day I hope but not to worry so much.
Here is some of the other work I have done over the years so realy it's just a matter of getting the time.
