A late roman shield decoration made by Edern, one fellow member of my group Letavia. Modern dyes and paint were used.
The decoration is mostly inspired from:
- Hinton Saint Mary villa mosaics (4th century, Dorset)
- Santa Maria Maggiore mosaics (circa 430)
- Vergilus Romanus codex (5th century).
"O niurt Ambrois ri Frangc ocus Brethan Letha."
"By the strenght of Ambrosius, king of the Franks and the Armorican Bretons."
Lebor Bretnach, Irish manuscript of the Historia Brittonum.
Agraes / Morcant map Conmail / Benjamin Franckaert
