Before Caesar-Gaul and the "Celtic Civil War"
#1
I have read on a few forums about this time in Gallic history(around 120 B.C. to 60 B.C.) of how the "Celtic" elite nearly wiped each other out during the struggle between the Arverni/Sequani and the Aedui. This supposedly gave Ariovistus and Caesar an easier time in their conflicts against the Gauls. The problem is that I cannot find any professional opinion(post 1930) that supports this claim(though many who say the opposite). The other forums boasted those who said it was true, but they could not back up their claims. I asked someone on another forum and said that there might be information here that did support this "Gallic Civil War" which all but wiped out the "Celtic" elite. Does anyone here have information that supports the theory that the Gallic elite wiped themselves during this struggle between the Arverni/Sequani and the Aedui?
