I never heard before that the Sioux (Lakota) laid claim to Germany, but I don't keep close tabs on those things...

Hi, well if i understand the point of your textes here i would like to tell this fact: i was asking in our promonente museum if we i mean the me and my friends the Celtic reenactors can do a historical event in the museum.... the answer was: hm..... the Celts... yes it is the truth we do have in the museum some Celtic items..... but the Celts were not so important culture in our Slovenian past-time.... If you will come dressed like the stone age people or neandertals, than it will go (because of our "oldest" neanderthal flute-item in this museum....) another case: we have here strong and a little bit agressive group of nationalist people, who likes the ancient Venets. They opened some provocative themes with point, that the Celts wasn't never existing - here in Slovenia and in the Europe, too. They understand completelly iron age culture as Venetic culture. And third case are the orthodox panslavic groups (it is good they aren't from Slovenia) - they says that all the nations on the world comes out of the Serbians.... The Serbians are ancient antecestors of all nations on the world, they are the oldest nation on the world with the oldest alphabeth, the oldest towns, and at the end - their origins comes form the Athlantida (athlantic people). They believe that they have the oldest piramide on the world wich is 500 000 years old.....
Well, the conclusion: here in Slovenia nobody likes us - i mean the Celtic reenactors - but i am member of the group in Austria because here we don't have someone with good and serious interess about the Celtic'c living history - but we do have a druidic esoteric group of the "Celts" and they are coperating with some museums!! They are producting completely unauthentical Celtic items - for them they get from the museums the certificate that they are truth-replicas!! But they are 100% falsificate - they are doing brown brunniert (with oil) swords, their scabards aren't silver-coloured like steel - they are brown! etc ... It is old story - i had problems because of them, but i am doing the historical-serious way of the living history and i don't wannt to change it in the esoteric meaning, i am doing living history on the origins of scientific-paradigm, wich i am following in my reenacting-way. I am here the only one with this attitude, here are some fotos of some of my events in the last 4 years, i was colleting them because in Croatia i will publish interview about the living history and the way, how to make it:

Quote:I remember one thing back in 1995 when some PETA demonstrators showed up after an Iron age living experiment demonstrating against the wearing and use of animal skins by the people involved in that living experiment.

I could never be an activist. I would never think of something like that.

Jose your group looks pretty good to me!
It would not stretch the imagination to believe the ancients may have looked somewhat like your band.

Yes, I've encountered sabotage or attempted sabotage (that was discovered). A know a group whose rivals phoned up venues and, posing as the group, tried to cancel the event.

Luckily the group was contacted by the event organizers, just to double check...
