Difficult to forget: Coulston and I were in at their birth (and both featured in the video made for the Gateshead Garden Festival being attacked by an aggressive little bloke in a Roman hoodie). Only time you'll ever catch me playing dressing-up games... the ESG have tried and failed... ;-)

Yes, Britannia are in the North East as well as the rest of the country. They have a training weekend in the midlands - at the Lunt fort for 5th Century and also Gladiatorial combat. The gladiatorial work that Britannia does is excellent, well choreographed and sought after. Their shows have become increasingly high profile over the last 18 months and they have a huge amount of kit that you can handle, and use at training sessions.

Their events tend to be in the south, but their 'Northern' arm is alive and kicking and there would usually be liftshares from the North to events that you might find otherwise difficult to get to...
