I am planning to construct a lorica squamata like the one of

www.romanarmy.com/Content...tum=&ID=24

Lucius Sertonius Firmus from verona. I was wondering if there is anybody who can give me archeological evidence about the thickness and measures of larger scales. I can only find resources for the small scales. I was more thinking of a 2cm-3cm or 3cm-5cm scales. All I can find is the reference to the dura europa scales for the horse armour scales.

Second question is: how to make the sleeves. These are real sleeves not a round shoulder kind of thing you see with the squamata of D. Peeterson in his book about "Romans in colour" (not exact title..).

Any help is welcome, THX
