Hi

I am even more surprised no one has mentioned 'I Claudius'.

Tales from Europe, especially The Singing Ringing Tree, very strange and disturbing!
Robin Hood (both versions)
The Flashing Blade
Richard The Lionheart
Arthur of the Britons
Eagle of the Ninth
Dr Who (and the new version)
UFO
Star Trek and most of the spin offs

More up to date

Babylon Five

UFO...
Remember Arthur of the Britons fairly well (Oliver Tobias), but I don't remember Eagle of the Ninth! Was it any good?

UFO, another all time goodie. Got a bit psychedelic now and then, but the times we used to pretend jumping down those chutes to get to our Interceptors... halcyon days. Collected all the bubblegum cards and got the poster.

Hi Jim

Eagle of the Ninth had a reconstruction of a gateway based on the Lunt Roman fort it appears in Keppie's book on Roman Scotland as that was were it was filmed. From what I remember in the distant mists of time it was quite good but was never repeated to my knowledge or released on video. However some very old series are being released on DVD so who knows.

UFO
The Product Enterprise site you recommended once, have now released a series of UFO models and a talking Lt Ellis is due out soon.
I got the talking Kenneth Williams after all so I blame you. He does say Infamy Infamy they've all got it in for me! Brilliant!

Graham, if it was a BBC series I wonder if it'll be made public access on the internet?

What's the Kenneth Williams like?! I completely forgot about them and I'm kicking myself now  Product Enterprise have really expanded their range (I already have a Space 1999 Eagle) - Irwin Allen shows as well now! Fantastic! And the SPV looks very good.

Land of the Giants
Captain Scarlet (original series)

Has anyone seen the screen version of I, Claudius?

Salve Susan!

I have seen it (if you mean the BBC series?). I first saw it on the early eighties and I have just watched it again from DVD. Beats the crap out of the HBO`s Rome in my opinion.

True, the settings looks quite amateurish and there is not much action, but the acting is way above compared for example "Rome". Recommended! Just be patient and adapt to the slower rhythm of "I, Claudius" and you will be rewarded for your effort  !

Det är svårt att kämpä mot "action-packed" series som "Rome", men vi klassikister måste i alla fall försök!

Dr Who (from behind the sofa)
Flash Gordon
Blake's 7 (quintessentially 70s)
Thunderbirds

how come I became a historian?

A prize of two Karma points for anyone who can guess and name my two favourite episodes of Star Trek? (possibly everyone's on this forum as well! Now there is a clue.)
