Who? Rutger? Liked him as Vortigern in 'Merlin of the Crystal Cave'... Did he do that? Have any pic?

Quote:As pointed out above, trying to fight with such limited vision would be giving your enemy too much of an advantage.
It's been discussed before, but there is an opinion that a properly made mask that fits well would cause very little impairment of vision if any, unlike an off-the-shelf fits-all helmet mask that leaves the eye holes some distance from the wearer's eyes. For a soldier whose combat role involves something like carrying a standard there is a logic to its use for face protection from not only blades, but particularly missiles.

Rutger as 'Roy", in Blade Runner, on of his most interesting supporting roles..... Those lines quoted above are some of the best ever, especially for veterans and adventurers.
but then there is always Rutger and Jennifer in "Flesh & Blood" aka "The Rose and the Sword". rennaissance Hot tubs and Jennifer Jason Leigh!

Boy is that ever true! Before I moved here, I couldn't really tell the difference between spoken Dutch and German.
The best test is to express enthusiastic support for the German national football team. If you wake up 4 hours later laying in an alley with no memory of what happened, you can safely assume you're dealing with a Dutchie.

I've allways known the difference between Dutch and Deutsche! I am from a small country as well! I can even tell the difference between both spoken languages, (I'm good at that). I only thought that Rutger Hauer was a German actor, just that.

When I first began researching the American civil war, I was amazed at how many Dutch immigrants fought in the western theater of the war. Then I learned that "Dutch" was the common way of referring to Germans out west.

Rutger Hauer did play a German in the TV movie Fatherland. He was the ex-U-Boot commander now SS Police Detective investigating the murder of a high-ranking party official.
Perhaps he has played other roles as a German, but that is the only one that comes to mind.

Exactly, Pennsylvania "Dutch" are actually Germans in origin. That doesn't stop people from putting up tulips and windmills in Lancaster county however. There are tons of "Dutch" Germans all over the American Midwest from PA to MN, with most in PA, OH, and IN. There are also Haderites all the way to Idaho.
They still speak german among themselves and refer to all others as "English", so misapplied terms go both ways it seems.
