And I followed Peronis' example above in the buttons for the shirt shown in the thread.

Another method to clean up your maille after stripping the zinc is to place it into a bucket of kitty litter. It absorbs all the moisture, and if you role it around it will also polish your maille.

Brothers,
I updated the photos at the start of this thread based on questions/comments from the field.
Cesar wanted a photo of me in the hamata, and Jim (Tarbicus) wanted a photo of the back showing the doubler attachment. Both are included in the first message.
I wore this thing for up to 9 hours a day at our recent event here in Mobile, AL, USA. With my subarmalis it was very comfortable and I found I could move around in it very well.

Thanks, Martin.
Believe me, the haircut is 75% necessity and 25% personal choice -- 75% of my hair is no longer with me and I shave the other 25% off.
I think this hamata is a good product -- I would order it without the galvanization as I did.

May I say that having seen this hamata "up close and personal" it is truly a work of art.Very nice indeed. That said, I found the 8mm ones from the same supplier to be equally nice. My only objection to the off the shelf ones(Gaius Calvus has made modifications) would be the tendancy for the breast hooks to come unscrewed. My friend Lucius had his fall off in the middle of the parade but luckily got it back."Lock-tite,anyone?"
