Some reports say it was shot dead, others just that it was shot, others claim the bullets did not penetrate the hide.

The BBC though claims:
"As for the crocodile, it is also doing well. It has found fame as a result of the incident, attracting many visitors to its enclosure. "

You realize, of course, that if we were real Romans, we'd be laughing our asses off at the sight of a croc with a human arm in its mouth. We'd laugh even harder while the inept vet bled to death. It would be the high point of the morning show at a typical munera.
