I play it as well. It's one of my most favorites.

I bought the full version a few days ago. I keep trying to lay siege on rome with hoplites. Once I saw my siege tower get destroyed while people were still in it! I saw those helpless soldiers, fall to their deaths. I keep trying, though!

Well, finally got a home pc which will handle RTR, and sounds alot better than on the feeble laptop speakers. Whoo-hoo!

From the day I discovered the EB mod I never played vanilla RTW or M2TW again (btw also no other strategy game).
I will give RTR a trial however.

RTW is the game I've ever been waiting for. For a while I'd been kind of addicted ;-) ) ... thought I had overcome this.

If you thought RTW or RTR was great, play Roma Surrectum! It has taken out all the rather odd units (war pigs and dogs) and now, as Rome, you field 35 legions, all historically accurate in number and name, as well as detailed Areas of recruitment historically accurate as possible to where the legions were acctually raised and/or served. I can post the link if anyone's interested.
For those of you late Rome junkies, Invasio Barbarorum is a Barbarian Invasion mod that I thought was pretty darn accurate. Alot more unit selection than vanilla BI. Palatinae Auxiliaries, Plumbarti and comitatenses cohorts, and MANY foederati and liminatae (SP?) units. Romano British are playable. Just some Ideas I'm throwing out there for those of you who want to field legions... 8)
