Yes, the decorative band has been soldered on the reconstruction. There was no mention of any holes for the rivets that would hold the band in any of the sources. Besides, the surviving fragment of the band is still attached to the helmet with no rivet going through it, which suggest a different method of attachment - soldering or some sort of glue/epoxy. We opted for soldering.

Wonderful job. I particularly like the hammer marks and artifacts of hand work.

I like items where you can see the bits of slag in the metal (like this helmet). It gives it that nice authentic feel.
