Roman toys
#16
My eldest boy (5 years old) has all the Pabo Romans and Gauls but the Gauls always seem to win when he plays with them! every now and them the Gauls change sides and become Auxiliaries (I've tried telling him they should be Numinarii but will he listen) and they both then go and give the Knights a good kicking. Big Grin only right and proper if you ask me.
My youngest (2 in 8 weeks) has some wooden Romans we got from Corbridge museum when coming back from holiday in Scotland this year.
Do you want me to photo then for you?

I have a damaged chariot and some more types, I'll make some pictures of the whole bunch soon.

When I was younger (oh so much younger than today), I had three of the Timpo Romans, one of which my mother used to take each Easter to stand in front of the model of Christ's tomb which stood on a table at the back of the church.
One of mine was a cavalryman too, but through the magic of Timpo he had the horse and legs of the cavalryman in Robert's photo but the upper body of the the chap with the green belt.

Whatever happened them I wonder.
